Lead OZU is a residential culture centre located in the surrounding of the Sabina hills, at 50 km distance from Rome, Italy.

Text 1 Through the two residency schemes the 'open residency' and the 'TAOH residency', OZU support and promote emerging contemporary artists (regional, national and international levels). The main ambition of the programme is the creation of art projects that deal with the context in which they are made, geographically, socially, culturally or historically. OZU is a place of exchange, encounter, collaboration.

The deadline for 2010 residencies at OZU culture centre has been extended:
- 15 December 2009 for residencies between January - June 2010
- 31 March 2010 for residencies between June - December 2010

As member of the network of independent culture centres 'Trans Europe Halles', OZU has a wide network of partners in the cultural and artistic field throughout Europe.

The residents will be offered:
- a place to develop their artistic project and exchange ideas with people and artists living here.
- a natural, peaceful and quiet environment.
- a rehearsal/performance/exposition space.
- assistance in work.

  • Points of the 1997 Declaration related to this subject:
    - Parag. 18: (...) New means of private funding, from major foundations to small companies, must be encouraged as supplementary sources of funds, particularly with a view to supporting the creation, the expression and the dissemination of contemporary works.
    - Parag. 19: Public and private funding sources are invited to respond favourably to requests made by artists in developing countries or countries in transition. UNESCO’s intervention is particularly necessary in order to identify and publicize existing opportunities for private funding of the arts worldwide.
