Global Alliance: fostering partnerships in cultural industries for development

The Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity fosters partnerships between public, private and civil society actors in cultural industries in developing countries.

This initiative is an operational project of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, which reaffirms the importance of promoting innovative partnerships responding to the needs of developing countries.

The Global Alliance operates at two levels: it provides information and tools on the partnerships through a web platform and supports operational projects in the field.

Through its resource centre, the Global Alliance provides:

  • Up to date information on partnerships and on the functioning of cultural industries
  • Tips offering guidance in the partnership process
  • Methodological tools to work effectively in partnership
  • Case studies to share experiences and lessons learned
