With two sites (including one transboundary) on the World Heritage List and a Tentative List in the process of being documented and coordinated with those of the other Baltic States, Estonia has demonstrated its interest in the safeguarding of its heritage, particularly its historic towns.

Regarding living heritage, Estonia claims two masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity the Kihnu Cultural Space and the Baltic Song and Dance Celebrations (together with Latvia and Lithuania). Both masterpieces were proclaimed in 2003.

To promote intercultural dialogue, Estonia works together with its Baltic neighbours, Latvia and Lithuania, to develop cultural policies in favour of the sustainable development of cultural tourism.

In the area of intercultural dialogue, Estonia participates in the Bridges of Tales project, which aims to encourage cooperation between South Caucasus countries and the Baltic States.
