Les Missions jésuites de la Santísima Trinidad de Paraná et Jesús de Tavarangue représentent le Paraguay sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial. Un plan d’action a été mis en place afin d’améliorer la préservation et la gestion de ce site culturel.

La coopération entre ce pays et l’UNESCO porte également sur la sauvegarde du patrimoine immatériel et la protection du patrimoine subaquatique.
