Saint Lucia has one natural site inscribed on the World Heritage List and it is managed with support from the Marine Programme.

In the field of intangible heritage, the country has coordinated the project to revitalize the art of masquerade while implementing cultural tourism activities in connection with this expression.

With regard to intercultural dialogue, Saint Lucia participated actively in the International Year for Commemoration of the Struggle Against Slavery and its Abolition, the cultural tourism project entitled The Slave Route in the Caribbean, and the organization of exhibitions and seminars as well as a number of inventorying and publishing activities.
In the framework of the Youth Path programme, which aims to reduce poverty by developing heritage-friendly tourist activities, a project was developed in Des Barras.

In 2007, Saint Lucia demonstrated its commitment to strengthen cooperation with UNESCO in the field of culture by ratifying the Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage, the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
