UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity - 2001

    Adopted by the 31st session of the UNESCO General Conference, Paris, 2 November 2001.

    This is a legal instrument which recognizes, for the first time, cultural diversity as a "common heritage of humanity" and considers its safeguarding to be a concrete and ethical imperative, inseparable from respect for human dignity.
