Prize of Tanger for artistic creation in Poetry, Marocco

Call for contributions

In order to promote the artistic creation and cultural communication, the Association of Young Creators of Tanger (Morocco) organizes the 8th edition of the poetry competition, called "Footbriges in verses" (« Passerelles en vers »), to pay tribute to the famous Arab poets SALAH ABDESSABOUR from Egypt and ABDELKRIM TABBAL from Morocco.

This event, which will take place in April 2009, is open to works of young creators under 35 years old in the following languages: Arab, French, English and Spanish.

The jury will be composed of literary men and university professors who will supervise the evaluation and the awarding of the Prize.

The deadline of application is 31 December 2008.

  • Points of the 1997 Declaration related to this subject:
    - Paragraph 18: (...) New means of private funding, from major foundations to small companies, must be encouraged as supplementary sources of funds, particularly with a view to supporting the creation, the expression and the dissemination of contemporary works.
    - Paragraph 19: Public and private funding sources are invited to respond favourably to requests made by artists in developing countries or countries in transition. UNESCO’s intervention is particularly necessary in order to identify and publicize existing opportunities for private funding of the arts worldwide.
