2009 FIA-FIM joint manifesto on the Status of the Artist

The International Federation of Actors (FIA) and the International Federation of Musicians (FIM) has come together to produce a joint Manifesto concerning Status of the Artist.

Issued on March 2009, it calls upon the fundamental difficulties artists face and stresses the need to update legal and institutional frameworks, employment rights, facilitation of mobility, and intellectual property protections of artist. It also recommends the involvement of artists in decision making process of cultural policy.

Coherent with the spirit of the 1980 Recommendation concerning the Status of the Artist, the Manifesto is a useful advocacy tool for disseminating the grass root concerns of artists.

The condensed two pages Manifesto is available on the FIA and FIM website in 8 other languages besides French and English.
