The Syrian Hour: Enhancing freedom of expression through radio
The third season of the UNESCO radio programme “Sa’a Suriya” (“The Syrian Hour”) began this Monday, 24 February 2014. The programme is part of the UNESCO project “Sa’a Suriya: Enhancing access to information and freedom of expression for Syrian refugees in Jordan through radio programs”.
Working with Development Partners to Promote Freedom of Expression
Promoting an enabling environment for freedom of expression in the Arab region. Building capacity of mass media institutions in Myanmar. Supporting media accountability in South East Europe and Turkey. These are just a few of the many projects UNESCO is leading worldwide thanks to voluntary contributions from development partners in support of freedom of expression.
Tunisia: New Constitution guarantees freedom of expression and freedom of information
UNESCO welcomes the vote by the Tunisian National Constituent Assembly (NCA) of several articles of the new Constitution on fundamental freedoms, including freedom of expression and freedom of information.
