Libertad de expresión

Published by UNESCO’s Office in Quito, this comic book illustrates the main principles and concepts of freedom of expression and press freedom in an accessible, easy-to-understand language.

The book consists of 36 illustrated pages and is targeting youth and teenagers. It addresses freedom of expression principles and explains how these principles can be promoted with best practices, such as an equitable-frequency distribution or the establishment of independent regulatory bodies.

It also explains how bad practices, such as censorship, self-censorship, violence against journalists, severely punished opinion crimes, or mandatory titles and trade memberships for journalists, can jeopardize freedom of expression.
