Discovering creativity programmes

© UNESCO/Hendro
Young Indonesians from Siberut Island have created a multimedia centre with the support from the IFCD.

To strengthen culture as a factor of sustainable development, UNESCO implements a number of activities benefitting creators and artists at national, regional and global level.
Based on South-South and North-South-South cooperation and on public-private collaboration, these activities – among which the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture and the Creative Cities Network – focus on exchange, training, advice and capacity building, in particular for young people, and in developing countries. They are conceived in synergy with the initiatives developed in the framework of the international cultural Conventions, in particular the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, with its International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD), which invests in projects that lead to structural change, including economic growth and social cohesion.
This presentation will focus diverse aspects of this segment of the Culture Programme
