WWAP Donors

The World Water Assessment Programme is currently funded by the Italian Government.

From February 2007 to October 2013 the Italian Government provided generous support through a Funds in Trust Agreement (FIT).

Following the ratification of the National Law n.100/9 August 2013, the Memorandum of Understanding for the World Water Assessment Programme entered into force on 11 October 2013, placing the presence of WWAP in Italy on a permanent footing.

The Umbria Region is supporting WWAP through the provision of the premises at Villa La Colombella in Perugia, Italy.

In addition to the Italian grant, other donors have contributed, in the recent past, to specific WWAP’s activities. In particular the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through UNOPS, contributed to the World Water Scenario's project, with a 2-years grant.

From 2000 to 2006, WWAP was mainly funded by the Japanese Government, with additional contributions from DANIDA/Denmark, URA - the Basque Water Agency, and other countries.
