Strategy
UNESCO’s TVET Strategy (2010-2015) supports Member States through three core areas:
- provision of upstream policy advice and related capacity development
- conceptual clarification of skills development and improvement of monitoring
- acting as a clearinghouse and informing the global TVET debate
UNESCO’s approach to TVET integrates research, policy experience and international dialogue and partnership. UNESCO is deepening its support for TVET as the cornerstone of education and training reform, and not the weakest link in education systems. Through its Strategy for TVET, the Organization recognizes the indispensable role of TVET in development and particularly its importance in addressing youth unemployment, equity and income disparities, socio-economic development and, more broadly, quality of life challenges.
