World Conferences

The UNESCO World Conference on Arts Education is a culmination of international collaboration between UNESCO and its partners in the field of arts education.

The First World Conference was organized on 6-9 March 2006 in cooperation with the Portuguese Government following a decision adopted at the 32nd session of the UNESCO General Conference in 2003.

As a follow-up to the First World Conference and in response to the appeal from the 34th session of UNESCO’s General Conference, the Second World Conference was hosted on 25-28 May 2010 in Seoul by the Government of the Republic of Korea .
