The World We Want Beyond 2015

What is the Post-2015 Development Agenda?

Focusing on the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) up to 2015 is a top priority. At the same time discussions are underway on the agenda that could follow the MDGs. The Post-2015 Development Agenda will be defined by the Member States and serve as a framework for global development efforts. The agenda should build on the Millennium Declaration, the achievements of the MDGs and address new and emerging challenges. Poverty reduction and the protection of our planet should be at the heart of the new development agenda underpinned by the principles of human rights, equality and sustainability.
