The Approval Committee of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport convenes twice annually to determine new applications. The next meeting will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 28 April 2015.

During this session, Committee members will review a series of new anti-doping projects from around the world. As a means of increasing the Fund’s visibility and impact, the agenda will also include discussions around how to promote the Fund online and consolidated communication initiatives.

The Committee currently comprises Finland, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, the Russian Federation and Zambia (six States Parties representatives) and an observer from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Set forth in Article 17 of the International Convention against Doping in Sport, the primary purpose of the Fund is to help States Parties to meet their obligations under the Convention, namely to develop and implement efficient anti-doping programmes. The Approval Committee assesses national and/or regional anti-doping applications according to priorities identified by the Conference of Parties.
