UNESCO

UNESCO and the Chinese company Perfect Game Holding Limited (Perfect World) signed a Framework agreement on 3 February 2015 to support the next 9th UNESCO Youth Forum. The three-year agreement foresees additional cooperation across UNESCO’s fields of competence.

The agreement was signed at UNESCO Headquarters by Ms Ruby Wang, Senior Vice-President of Perfect World and Vincent Defourny, Director, Division of Cooperation with Extrabudgetary Funding Sources from UNESCO, in the presence of UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, Mr Hao Ping, President of the 37th General Conference and Vice-Minister of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Ms Zhang Xiuqin, Ambassador of China to UNESCO, and Mr Du Yue, Secretary-General of the National Commission.

This  agreement places Perfect World in the “Major Sponsor” category for the Youth Forum, which will be held from 26 to 28 October 2015. First introduced in 1999, the Youth Forum takes place every two years, enabling young women and men to bring their collective energy and vision to the table and to make recommendations that are presented to the UNESCO General Conference, where the Organization’s 195 Member States decide on UNESCO’s future actions. Shaped by and for youth, the Forum gives them a voice in the programmatic decisions made by UNESCO’s Member States.
