Irina Bokova attends the International Women’s Empowerment Conference in Bulgaria

On 24 July, UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova, will take part in the International Women’s Empowerment Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, focusing on “Advancing Leadership for Balkan Women”.

Hosted by Women’s Campaign International (WCI) and the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria, the Conference will be opened by the Director-General, the President and Founder of Women’s Campaign International, Marjorie Margolies and the Deputy Prime-Minister for Demographic and Social Policies and Minister of Labor and Social Policy of Bulgaria, Ivaylo Kalfin.

Women’s Campaign’s International empowers women across the world to serve as leaders in the spheres of the economy, civil society, politics and peace building. The main aim of the Conference will be to enhance leadership and communication skill sets of prominent women in Bulgaria, and advance the future of women leaders in the country.

The Conference will hold seven distinct presentations all of which focusing on building the skills and capacities of aspiring, young women leaders as they create their strategies to succeed in the private and public sector.
