Rabah Madjer, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, was the guest of honor at the signing ceremony of the Partnership Agreement between UNESCO and the Saudi Arabian football club Al Hilal, which took place at UNESCO Headquarters on 7 April 2015. This event was held as part of celebration of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

The three-year partnership agreement, which was signed between the Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, and the President of the Club Al-Hilal, Al-Mohammad Hmaidani, aims to promote social inclusion through sport. Under this agreement, Al-Hilal will invest $ 1.5 million to provide quality physical education in schools and social integration for young people, particularly in conflict zones.

This partnership was conceived in the same spirit as those initiated with the football clubs such as Malaga (Spain), Juventus (Italy), and Shenzhen Ruby (China). Sport, as a powerful vector for education in citizenship, a vector of inclusion as well as a way to fight against doping and against racism and intolerance.

"Football has no borders and this partnership is a perfect example" said Rabah Madjer during his speech delivered on the occasion of this event. He also highlighted the big change that sport can bring to the life of youth around the world.

Other famous sportsmen such as Daniel Bravo, Pascal Gentil, Sallem Riyadh as well as Arnaldo Fuxa, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS) also attended this signing ceremony.
