Iyad Kallas

Radio Souriali (Syria)

Iyad Kallas is a Syrian humanitarian and sociopolitical activist, peace-advocating citizen-journalist, progressive public speaker and trainer. He conducts civil society and community development projects with a focus on independent media, education for sustainable development and proactive citizenship empowerment. Mr Kallas co-founded Vision (community development NGO) and SouriaLi (independent grassroots radio), where he currently serves as programming director. He holds undergraduate degrees, in “Economics” and “Information Technology”, and a Master’s degree in “Management Information Systems”. He is also an alumnus of the “Active Young Political Leaders” forum. He is currently based in France, where he coordinates activities with colleagues in Syria and in exile, to support the implementation of projects and initiatives aimed at fostering international awareness of the complex regional and geopolitical issues through media, public events, art and culture.
