Remzi Lani

Albanian Media Institute

Remzi Lani is the Executive Director of the Albanian Media Institute. He has a long career in journalism:  Zeri i Rinise (Tirana), El Mundo (Madrid), Zeri (Pristina) Alternative Information Network (AIM) etc. He is an author of various articles on Balkan affairs for different local and foreign papers and magazines such as: El Mundo (Madrid), The Guardian–(London), Quimera (Barcelona), The International Spectator (Rome), Futuribili (Trieste), Fokus (Skopje), Vreme (Belgrade), Osllobogjenie (Sarajevo), Monitor (Podgorica), War Report (London), Transition (Prague), Transitions (Brussels).

He is founder and first President of the South East Network of Media Centers and Media Institutes, which brings together 15 Media Institutes/ Media Centers from SEE. Lani is member of the Advisory Board of Balkan Trust or Democracy, member of the Steering Committee of GFMD (Global Forum for Media Development), member of the Board of WAN-IFRA(World Association of Newspapers) etc. He has been working as a media consultant in many countries such as Yemen, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, Armenia, Bosnia etc.
