Museums and Cultural Objects
Museums are expected to play multiple roles. In addition to its primary function to archive, restore, protect and maintain rare historical artifacts, museums are also expected to act as a pedagogical institution to raise-awareness and improve knowledge of general public on the value and importance of these precious objects that bear witness to the history and cultural identity of people and countries. UNESCO New Delhi provides capacity building to the museums to improve their conservation skills as well as public outreach.
