People, Biodiversity & Ecology

UNESCO’s Ecology related programmes notably focus on an interdisciplinary research agenda spanning the ecological, social and economic dimensions of biodiversity loss and its reduction.

The UNESCO Moscow Office strengthens and uses the World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR) to promote sustainable development in the cluster countries and assists in the implementation of the Madrid Action Plan. The Office provides its assistance to establishment of new biosphere reserves (including transboundary) and functional improving of existing ones within the cluster.
