Dance performance by people with disabilities

Brief project description 

The project consists of staging a large-scale community dance performance in Palestine by people with physical disabilities. Participants will work closely with dance therapists using yoga and pilates, and alongside internationally renowned community dance choreographers. A total of 80 participants,  including persons with disabilities, will be brought together through this team of dance therapists.
 
Throughout this project the participants with disabilities will undergo intensive physical, emotional, and cognitive processes of producing a performance. They will claim the spotlight, performing in main spaces in Palestine to a foreseen audience of 8,000 persons. 
 

Objectives and expected results:

The project aims to create a community dance to empower marginalized people by providing participants with tools – through dance - for self-expression, raising their self-esteem and body awareness.
