Indonesia formalized its USD 6 million contribution to the UNESCO Emergency Multi-Donor Fund on 2 March 2012 through an exchange of letters between Mr Muhammad Nuh, the country’s Minister of Education and Culture, and UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova.
Malaysian Funds in Trust
The Government of Malaysia and the United Nations for Education, Sciences, Culture and Communications Organization (UNESCO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today under the “Malaysia UNESCO Cooperation Programme” (MUCP). The MOU under MUCP was signed by H.E. Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal, Ambassador of Malaysia to France, on behalf of the Government of Malaysia and Mrs. Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO. The signing took place at the Headquarters of UNESCO, Paris, France.
Japanese Funds in Trust
In recognition of the important role of science and technology for sustainable development, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan has contributed UNESCO in the form of the Japanese Funds-in-Trust (JFIT) in order to strengthen UNESCO activities in the field of science in Asia and the Pacific region since the 1970's.
