International Women's Day 2008 took place at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France, between 08 - 25 March. A series of events drew attention to key gender-related contemporary themes, and a number of colorful and innovative exhibitions paid tribute to women’s participation in fields as varied as peace building, filmmaking, and the fine arts.

The theme of the International Round Table, “Gender Equality: Make it Your Business!” was based on the United Nations’ official theme for International Women’s Day 2008: “Investing in Women and Girls.”
