With the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), the UNESCO Office in Rabat is organizing in partnership with the National Society of Radio and Television (SNRT) and the Permanent Conference of the Mediterranean Audiovisual Operators (COPEAM) a two-day workshop for the adaptation of the UNESCO’s Gender -Sensitive Indicators for Media (GSIM) to Moroccan context.
The workshop for the adaptation of the UNESCO’s Gender -Sensitive Indicators for Media (GSIM) to Moroccan context that will be held at the SNRT’s headquarters in Rabat on 14 – 15 January 2013 is an activity implemented by the UNESCO Office in Rabat within the framework of the project Fostering Moroccan Public Service Broadcasters’ Role as Gender-Equality Culture Disseminators. This project aims at strengthening Moroccan PSBs’ institutional and technical capacities in order to integrate gender perspectives into their internal policies and contents.
The objective of this workshop is to lay the basis for the implementation of the second stage of the project that will consist in measuring gender-sensitivity in SNRT operations and content by using the adapted version of the GSIM.
