Content Development
UNESCO supports the production, dissemination and preservation of culturally diverse content to enable ICT-based content providers to produce and disseminate programmes reflecting local views on major societal issues. Particular attention is given to the role of the media in promoting dialogue among cultures and civilizations as well as peoples, including building capacities among media professionals to create content in unreported and under-reported areas.
Special project to develop self documentary skills of indigenous peoples of Siberia has been just one of the projects, developed by the UNESCO Moscow Office to preserve the cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples the Far North of Russia. In addition, the UNESCO Moscow Office has organized International Conference “Linguistic and Cultural Diversity in Cyberspace” in 2008 as well as supported efforts to digitalize archive materials reflecting cultural heritage of the indigenous people of the Russian Federation living in Buryatia, Khanty Mansijsk Autonomous Region, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), etc.
