15 Action Projects receive the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum label

The legacy of the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum lives on in the 15 successful Action Projects that were selected by young participants to receive the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum label.  Over 1,500 projects were originally received when UNESCO launched a call for submissions in July 2013, a striking testimony to the creativity of young people across the world today and their commitment to change. Projects were to be youth-led, youth-focused, and based around social inclusion, civic engagement, intercultural dialogue, social innovation, conflict prevention, or skills development.

A shortlist of 45 projects was drawn up by an independent jury, and presented to the young women and men participating in the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum itself. During the Forum, these young participants debated and selected 15 projects – 3 per region – to receive the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum Label.

These projects are both powerful and inspiring examples of youth working at the heart of social innovation and bringing about change in their communities. They are expected to develop over the next two years, with some of them unfolding on a local level and others having national or international impact. They stand as a lasting legacy to the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum, demonstrating the power of youth-led innovation and designed to bring social change into communities across the world!

In their work to implement these projects the young project leaders and their organizations need your support and contribution! If you wish to sponsor or partner with a project or simply find out how you can help with its implementation, please get in touch with the project leaders below.
