  • To build a better understanding and share knowledge about the contributions of literacy and youth and adult education for competency and for the development of sustainable societies, within a lifelong learning lens.
  • To report on the future work of UNESCO in the region, in the literacy and educational realm of young adults, and to identify possible areas of regional cooperation in line with the new 2030 Agenda in Education and CONFINTEA VI.
