On his visit to UNESCO, Viet Nam’s Prime Minister pledges reinforced cooperation with the Organization

Paris, 1 December – Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam paid an official visit to UNESCO Headquarters on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Organization. This is the first ever visit to UNESCO by a Vietnamese Head of Government since this Member State joined the Organization in 1951.

Viet Nam Celebrates the 70th Anniversary of UNESCO and the 5th Anniversary of the Inscription of Thang Long Imperial Citadel

Ha Noi, 23 November 2015 – Viet Nam celebrates the 70th anniversary of the founding of UNESCO at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel World Heritage Site. The Site also celebrated its 5th anniversary of being inscribed on the World Heritage List.

Viet Nam launches contextualized Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media

Ha Noi, 29 October 2014 - Vietnam’s first-ever Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media (GSIM), a set of indicators for media institutions to assess their gender-sensitive responsiveness, were endorsed and launched by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) today: an important step in promoting gender equality.

Member States reaffirm importance of UNESCO at 70th anniversary session of General Conference

Paris, 19 November - The 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference closed on 18 November, reaffirming the Organization’s role in the fight against violent extremism and in taking forward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The General Conference is the governing body of the Organization.
