HIV and AIDS Education

Among the ways in which UNESCO Programmes tackle today’s pressing matters is through information dissemination and preventive education. One such example is their multi-sectoral response to HIV and AIDS, using the many facets of UNESCO's mandate to contribute to the efforts towards slowing and halting the spread of HIV by 2015.

One of the activities developed is Fast Car, a video game which can be downloaded anywhere in the world free of charge. Through an interactive interface youth, are guided through different levels and learn all about prevention, epidemiology and other issues surrounding HIV and AIDS, all the while strengthening their basic knowledge on the virus, not to mention in microbiology.
