Documentary heritage reflects the diversity of languages, peoples and cultures. It is the mirror of the world and its memory. But this memory is fragile. Every day, irreplaceable parts of this memory disappear for ever.
Memory of the World Register
The Memory of the World Register lists documentary heritage which has been recommended by the International Advisory Committee, and endorsed by the Director-General of UNESCO, as corresponding to the selection criteria regarding world significance and outstanding universal value.

Pictorial exhibition of items, either listed on a Memory of the World Register or chosen from projects, which typify the vast range of carriers that make up the documentary heritage of humanity.
Berlin: Celebration of the 20 years of the Memory of the World Programme
On 10 October 2012, UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova, will attend the celebration of the inscription of the “Construction and Fall of the Berlin Wall and the Two-Plus-Four-Treaty of 1990” on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register, in the presence of Foreign Minister of Germany Guido Westerwelle.
Fifth Memory of the World Committee for Asia Pacific (MOWCAP) meeting
UNESCO, partnering with Thai National Commission for UNESCO and the Thai Memory of the World Committee, organized the 5th Memory of the World Committee for Asia Pacific (MOWCAP) meeting to discuss the recommendations from the international conference in Warsaw, the development of MOWCAP, the insignia and the philosophy of the Memory of the World.
