Graphic Charter
An essential element of the Organization’s communication strategy, the well-known emblem or the logo is the fruit of intensive graphic development. UNESCO has provided itself with a graphic charter designed to manage its visual identity.
The use of the name and logo of UNESCO is subject to rules laid down by the governing bodies of the Organization. UNESCO’s institutional framework and practice concerning the use of its name and logo aims to enhance UNESCO’s visibility and outreach through the effective association of its name and logo with activities of its networks and partners, to protect UNESCO’s name and logo from inappropriate and unauthorized use.
Logo exposure
The IKM unit is proactive in providing advice and support for the correct use of the name and logo of UNESCO, in conformity with the directives, to ensure protection of its name.
The unit similarly provides assistance to partners for the creation and maintainance of new websites, thus contributing significantly to the Organization’s global and local visibility. The unit assists also National Commissions and chairs in the production and/or renewal of their logos, within its regional scope.
Internet site
Communication and knowledge sharing are at the core of UNESCO’s constitution and missions. With the rise of new communication technologies, Internet portals and websites have become increasingly important outreach channels.
Our new site delivers a variety of content and features geographical target areas within the scope of its mandate.
Communication products
UNESCO Venice Office is very active in producing outreach graphic material giving a strong support to the organization of exhibitions and cultural events, and maximizing the efforts.
In 2009, a fresh corporate identity was launched through the production of a flyer, folder and newsletter with a new graphic layout. UNESCO Venice Office is applying the corporate identity to other outreach and communication products for consistency with a view to promote UNESCO and its Venice Office as part of it; examples are the booklets produced for Meetings Facililities, for Practical Information and General Information about our Office. IKM unit is fully supportive of events and activities through the graphic production of communication material for their promotion.
