Regional Ministerial Conference on Education Post-2015 - European and North American States to be held in Paris, 19-20 February 2015

UNESCO will bring together ministers and high-level officials of ministries of education and ministries of cooperation and development from the European and North American region as well as other stakeholders in education, such as civil society organizations, UN agencies, development banks and the private sector to discuss the post-2015 education agenda from a regional perspective.
The Regional Ministerial Conference on Education Post-2015 – European and North American States will be organized by UNESCO from 19 – 20 February 2015, in Paris, France.
The conference is part of a series of regional preparatory meetings which will feed into the World Education Forum 2015 in Incheon, Republic of Korea. Four regional conferences were already held:
- Asia and the Pacific region in Bangkok, Thailand, 6-8 August 2014
- Latin America and the Caribbean region in Lima, Peru, 30-31 October 2014
- Arab region in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, 27-29 January 2015
- Africa region in Kigali, Rwanda, 9-10 February 2015
The European and North American conference will review and analyse the Education for All experience in the region, including achievements, challenges and lessons learned and discussion of priorities for education beyond 2015. It will identify regional perspectives on the proposed post-2015 education goals and targets and provide regional contributions to the development of the post-2015 Framework for Action in terms of implementation of the future education agenda. The meeting will further reflect on the implications of the post-2015 education agenda from an aid perspective.
The conference is expected to issue a Statement including recommendations on the future education agenda from the regional perspective and its implementation. The meeting is further expected to discuss a regional synthesis report of the EFA experience in Group I and Group II countries to be finalized after the conference.
Ministers and Deputy Ministers from Armenia, Bulgaria, Canada (Québec), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Republic of Moldova and Slovakia have confirmed their participation in the Conference.
