Fifth Meeting of the International Advisory Committee (IAC) of the Memory of the World Programme, Cheongju City, Republic of Korea, 27-29 June 2001.

The International Advisory Committee (IAC) is appointed by the Director-General of UNESCO to guide the planning and implementation of the "Memory of the World" Programme as a whole.

The main purpose of this fifth meeting is to review progress achieved by the "Memory of the World" Programme, examine its revised "General Guidelines" and make recommendations to the Director-General of UNESCO on placing nominated documentary heritage on the "Memory of the World" Register, granting "Memory of the World" label to selected projects and raising funds for the programme.
