Prizes

Since 1952, UNESCO has awarded international prizes to outstanding and innovative efforts to promote its activities in its fields of competence. Today, there are 3 prizes related to the programme of culture.

Celebrations

UNESCO commemorates anniversaries of eminent personalities and historic events, in some cases, by issuing medals. It also observes important dates proclaimed by the UN General Assembly.
