UNESCO Forum on Gender Equality

The UNESCO Forum on Gender Equality series was organized on a regular basis by the Division for Gender Equality, Office of the Director-General. Launched on 4 October 2007, in line with the designation of Gender Equality as one of UNESCO’s two global priorities in the new Medium-Term Strategy 2008-2013, the seminars focus on topics pertaining to women’s empowerment and gender equality, with a view to bringing more attention to gender equality issues in relation to UNESCO’s domains.  The last one took place in May 2010.

We will revive this tradition and launch our new Forum on Gender Equality on 6 November 2014 with a Presentation by Ms Caren Grown, Senior Director Gender in the World Bank : “Advancing Gender Equality in the Post-2015 Development Agenda: Strategy, Substance and Structure”.
Room IV, 6 Nov, from 2 to 3 p.m.

Ms Grown will talk about her vision in her new role as the Senior Director for Gender in her Organization, her vision of Gender Equality in the Post-2015 agenda in relation to UNESCO domains and the possibilities of collaboration between the World Bank and UNESCO.
