“I can see the light” essay competition

Due to the celebration of the 2015 year as an International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies by UNESCO the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO together with the Republican Center for Ecological Education and Training under the Ministry of Education hold a republican essay competition named “I can see the light” for the schoolchildren of upper classes (8-11). The participants of the competition presented essays on the topics “I can see the light”; “Light technologies”; “Light in the life of animals”; “Light in the life of flora”; “Light and culture”. The topics mentioned above allowed schoolchildren to better understand the role of the light-based technologies in the modern world, its impact on such spheres as medicine, energetics and communication. The final event of the competition was held on the 8th of June 2015.

The winners have been awarded with certificates and other valuable gifts.
