Inspiration on Global Citizenship Education - UNESCO ASP-net in Denmark

Check out this short movie on students from nine countries working together on Global Citizenship – hosted by UNESCO ASP-net in Denmark and organized by the Youth Town with support from the Ministry of Education.

In 2014 Denmark has been celebrating the 200th Anniversary of compulsory education for all, and the Danish ASP-net schools have contributed to the festivities. In line with the overall strategy for ASP-net the Danish network has invited schools and students from eight other countries to work together to produce ideas on how to develop a school that develops global citizens? After six months of online preparation and communication, pupils and teachers from Cuba, Estonia, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Tanzania and the U.S. Virgin Islands came to Denmark in October 2014 to work together for a whole week and to produce good examples and recommendations on how to teach and learn for global citizenship.

The final outcome and recommendations from the teachers were presented to the Danish Minister for Education, Ms. Christine Antorini and to H.R.H. Princess Marie at the closure of the seminar.
