New National Strategy for UNESCO-Activities in Denmark 2014-2017
In autumn 2014 the Danish Minister for Education, Ms. Christine Antorini, launched a new national strategy for UNESCO-related work in Denmark 2014-2017. The overall objective of this strategy is to strengthen the relevance, impact and visibility of UNESCO-activities in Denmark by focusing on four transversal priorities and ten action areas.
Focal points of Denmark’s UNESCO work in order to foster these goals, the UNESCO-related work undertaken by Denmark in the years ahead will focus in particular on the following four cross-sectoral thematic priorities that are considered to be of special relevance to the opportunities and challenges facing us:
- Strategy for the UNESCO work Learning for global citizenship and sustainable development
- Conserving and transmitting natural heritage and cultural heritage for sustainable development
- The mobilization of science for innovation and sustainable development
- The strengthening of human rights, gender equality, freedom of expression and free media
- Four transversal priorities – Ten action areas
