Call for nominations: UNESCO - Japan Prize on ESD

The newly launched UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is now open for nominations.

The Prize honours outstanding efforts of individuals, institutions, organizations or other entities engaged in ESD activities. Generously funded by the Government of Japan, the Prize consists of three annual awards of USD 50,000 for each winner.

Nominations should be submitted to the Director-General of UNESCO by governments of Member States and non-governmental organizations in official partnership with UNESCO. They should focus on a specific project or programme of the nominee. Each government or non-governmental organization can make up to three nominations. Please note that self-nominations will not be considered.

Deadline for nominations: 31 May 2015.
