IATT Symposium: Implementing Sexuality Education

© UNESCO

The UNAIDS Inter-Agency Task Team on Education convened a one-day international symposium to address the significant gap in essential HIV knowledge among young people on 27 April 2011 in New York.

Organized by UNESCO, this symposium reviewed the situation of school-based sexuality education in selected countries, released the findings of a ground-breaking international study on the cost and cost-effectiveness of comprehensive sexuality education, and identified areas of collaboration and ways forward for international actors in HIV and education.
