Optimizing the Organization’s efforts to meet the needs of Africa: Field Reform in Africa completed

The reform of field offices in sub-Saharan Africa, which the Director-General promised to finalize before the end of 2013, has now been completed. It represents structural improvements that favour simplicity and coherence, improving efficiency vis-à-vis Member States. UNESCO’s network of field offices in Africa is now two-tiered:

  • Five regional, multisectorial office
  • 11 national offices
