10-06-2002 ()
- A training course in system administration for 10 fellows from Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan started last week at the “Regional Academy for Online Network Governance and System Administration” (RAONGSA) inBaku, Azerbaijan. The training, organized in partnership with the Baku Scientific and Training Centre and other regional donor organizations, comes under the UNDP/UNESCO project that led to the establishment of the Academy.
The participants were selected in collaboration with the respective National Commissions for UNESCO and IT centres of ACCESS-Net (Association of Computer Centres for Exploiting Sustainable Synergy) in the Central Asian sub-region
The one month training session comes under the Microsoft-Certified Professional Programme which has two authorized training courses, namely “Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server” and “Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services”.
Upon completion of the training session, the fellows will take the certification exams for MS certified specialists degrees. It is expected that the fellows trained at the Academy will take a leading role in IT capacity building by opening up similar training courses in each country under the coordination of ACCESS.
In the future, RAONGSA will offer a month-training session on a yearly basis not only for IT specialists but also for government executives and business coordinators with a focus on online network governance.
