High-Level event on Preventing Violent Extremism through Education
Participants will consider the role of education and its contribution towards national strategies to prevent violent extremism, and how to address the radicalization of learners that leads to violent extremism. It will set the stage for building strong support among UNESCO’s 195 Member States’ education ministries for the prevention of radicalization to violent extremism, as well as addressing the root causes of violent extremism through community and school engagement.
Education ministers, or their appointees, are cordially invited to a High-Level event on Preventing Violent Extremism through Education on the occasion of the 38th session of UNESCO’s General Conference.
The High-Level event is organized by UNESCO, the Permanent Mission of the United States to UNESCO and other UNESCO Member States supportive of Global Citizenship Education and the prevention of violent extremism through education.
By invitation only.
