Tenth E-9 Ministerial Review Meeting

© UNESCO/Justin Mott

The E-9 Ministerial Review Meeting (Islamabad 2014) was an opportunity for national educational authorities of Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, and Pakistan to review progress made, as well as the challenges that remain, in reaching the six EFA goals set in 2000. The nine countries also collectively positioned themselves with regard to the emerging global education and development agenda post-2015 in light of changing national, regional and global realities. Moreover, the meeting undertook an overall review of the E-9 Initiative identifying possible future scenarios to strengthen national educational development efforts beyond 2015. This 2014 E-9 Ministerial Review Meeting also marked the handover of E-9 chair from India to Pakistan for the period 2014-2016.
