The Eleventh Meeting of the Working Group on Education for All (EFA) was held on 2 and 3 February 2011, at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France. It  reviewed EFA progress since the 1990 World Conference on Education (Jomtien, Thailand) and prepared for the Tenth Meeting of the High Level Group on EFA, which took place from 22 to 24 March 2011 (also in in Jomtien, Thailand).  

 

 

 The Working Group focused on five selected topics:

  • reviewing progress made since 1990
  • improving the quality of education
  • making the case for education
  • violent conflict and education
  • financing education

The meeting’s discussions was informed by findings of the 2011 EFA Global Monitoring Report “Education and Violent Conflict”, regional reports on EFA progress since Jomtien and other relevant publications and papers.  

The meeting brought together more than 100 participants representing governments, bilateral and multilateral organizations, civil society, the private sector, parliaments and research institutions
