Multiplier Effect

UNESCO/ASPnet

The network is designed to have a multiplier effect. It is in a unique position to promote UNESCO’s values in more than 8.500 schools in 180 countries worldwide (as of October 2009).

Special campaigns aim at mobilizing UNESCO Associated Schools in favour of one of the study themes. They are often linked to international days, weeks, years and decades.

Schools and National Commissions for UNESCO diffuse information on results obtained so that other schools in the country can carry out similar activities.

UNESCO Associated Schools also serve as model schools to pilot-test new topics and innovative educational materials and approaches. There are numerous cases where ASPnet contributes actively to educational reform and renewal in various Member States of UNESCO.
