Documentary heritage submitted by Senegal and recommended for inclusion in the Memory of the World Register in 2015.
The old postcards cover the period from 1900 to 1959. Owing to their creation and purpose, the postcards offer a wealth of information that can shed light to entire chapters of Africa history as a whole, and Senegal specifically. Numbering 1515 items, they cover themes as diverse as they are varied, such as politics, religion, agriculture, economy, education, sport, infrastructures.
